Dr. Naim received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from University of Southern California in Los Angeles, and received his Medical Degree from Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City with a distinction in Research. He completed his residency in General Surgery at New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, NY, where he was Chief Resident during his final year. Dr. Naim completed his fellowship in Minimally Invasive Bariatric Surgery at University Medical Center at Princeton, NJ under the direction of world renowned bariatric surgeon Robert E. Brolin, MD.
Dr. Naim is board-certified in General Surgery, and is currently licensed to practice medicine in the state of California. He has been in practice since 2004, specializing in laparoscopic gastric bypass, open gastric bypass, Revisional surgery,Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy, and LAP-BAND® placement procedures. Dr. Naim is a member of Cedar-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, St. Mary Medical Center in Long Beach and Chapman Medical Center in Orange County which are are Bariatric Center of Excellence Hospitals.
Throughout his career, Dr. Naim has received numerous awards and honors, including Faculty Certificate of Recognition for Scientific Presentation at the International Congress and Endo Expo in Las Vegas, The Highest Research Productivity Award from the Department of Surgery at New York Methodist Hospital, and the Resident Achievement Award from the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons at New York Methodist Hospital.
Dr. Naim has completed extensive medical research throughout his career. After completing his research, Dr. Naim has provided his findings to the field of bariatric surgery through numerous publications and presentations. Dr. Naim is currently affiliated with the American College of Surgeons, American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, The Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, New York State Society of Surgeons, and IFSO, the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity.

Dr. Namihas is Board Certified by the National Board of Medical Examiners and is a diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology. In addition to upper endoscopy and colonoscopy, Dr. Namihas also performs PillCam Capsule Endoscopy of the small intestine.Dr. Namihas attended Loma Linda University in Riverside, Calif., for his undergraduate studies and University of California, Irvine, for his medical degree. He then completed an Internal Medicine Internship and Residency and a Gastroenterology Fellowship at Loma Linda University Medical Center.

Dr. Kelly M. Francis studied on an academic scholarship at David Lipscomb University, where she made the Dean’s List. After her graduation, she attended the Tulane School of Medicine in New Orleans, and she received her medical degree in 1994. Dr. Francis went on to complete her surgical internship and residency at New Orlean’s Charity Hospital. While there, she also took part in research involving surgery, otolaryngology (ENT), and molecular genetics.
Dr. Francis left New Orleans to pursue a fellowship at the University of Southern California. The fellowship focused on emergency surgery, laparoscopy, and teaching residents and medical students. After completing her fellowship, Dr. Francis was warmly welcomed as a gastric bypass and LAP-BAND® or Realize System surgeon at our Orange County practice.
Dr. Francis is an Associate Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the American Society of Bariatric Surgeons and the American Medical Association, and is certified by the American Board of Surgery. She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and biking.
